Get in touch if you would like to join a group of cyclists to explore the countryside of Coquetdale. Cycle ride lengths vary. No special bicycles are required and no special clothing although cyclists must wear a cycling helmet for protection should they unexpectedly dismount! Lights and high visibility clothing are recommended, particularly in dull or misty conditions. Cycling is a great way to meet like-minded people, keep fit, and enjoy this beautiful scenery in Northumberland.

The U3A cycling WhatsApp group makes communication between group members and access to up-to-the-minute information much easier.

We ride more or less every two weeks or so, usually in a group of between 5 and 8 electric and non-electric. We always wait and regroup at junctions and at the top of hills. We usually stop halfway or at the end for coffee and cover 30+ miles. We ride in most conditions but not if there's any likelihood of ice.

Although we aim to meet every two weeks (always on a Thursday), we do not publish a calendar of rides as dates can vary according to weather and other circumstances.

We always meet at the Haugh riverside car park in Rothbury at 10.00am.

If you are interested in joining the group but would like to talk about it first, please feel free to contact Ray on 07790 810 739.
